How NDLEA Burst Airport Cartel Specialized In Planting Drugs In Passengers Luggage.

According to reports a cartel specialised in planting illicit drugs in travellers luggage at the airport have been uncovered by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The Chairman NDLEA Col. Abdallah (rtd) who disclosed this in a statement said

“The cartel was uncovered after NDLEA detectives embarked on investigation of a Nigerian lady identified as Zainab Aliyu, who was accused of entering Saudi Arabia with tramadol”.

It was gathered that Zainab Aliyu was arrested by Saudi Arabia Police on December 26 2018, shortly after arriving for Lesser Hajj, over allegations that a luggage, bearing her name tag, contained unlawful substance.

However, while in detention, the NDLEA received a petition from her father, seeking a probe of his daughter’s ordeal and consequently, the NDLEA Commander in charge of MAKIA launched an investigation, which culminated in the arrest and arraignment of seven staff of the airport.

The suspects responsible for planting tramadol inside Zainab bag are Idris Umar Shehu, Sanni Suleiman, Nuhu Adamu, Rhoda Adetunji, Udosen Itoro Henry and Sanni Hamisu.Investigation further revealed that Zainab had only one luggage and was not aware of a second bag neither did she know that the second luggage was labelled in her name.

Meanwhile the latest development is an eye opener and has proven that many Nigerians who have been arrested and persecuted for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia were innocent all along but victims falsification.
